In 2017, our Taekwondo program started as an after-school program at a local elementary school. We now offer classes twice a week at AXIS International Academy. Our programs are based on the World Taekwondo Federation (Olympic-style taekwondo) and include a skill-building curriculum to prepare students as they advance in their ranking. Our Taekwondo school is family-owned and operated by Instructor Jenny Kim and Instructor Jiri Karnos.
Instructor Jenny is the Head Instructor and Co-Owner of Karnos Kim Taekwondo. She has a 2nd Dan black belt. Instructor Jenny has an M.S. in Student Affairs in Higher Education from CSU and a B.A. in Psychology from CU Denver where she founded the CSU Denver Taekwondo Team. Instructor Jenny’s taekwondo journey started at age 5.
Instructor Jiri (Year-Ee) is an Instructor and Co-Owner of Karnos Kim Taekwondo. He achieved his first Dan in 2024. Instructor Jiri has a B.A. in Journalism and Communication studies from MSU Denver, where he started his taekwondo journey in 2012.
The team also includes Instructor Paige and Instructor Madda, who both came to us with previous taekwondo teaching experience. Instructor Paige is a 2nd Dan and Instructor Madda is a 1st-degree black belt and training in ITF.
